..we do something about climate change?

This is a nicely done website to inform about ecosystem restoration projects worldwide – and it may inspire us all to do a little bit more (towards saving the planet) and use a little bit less (of fossil fuels, etc.). It collects stories of people who have actually done something (or would like, at least). And it’s probably a good place to have your curiosity piqued.

Europe is in a crisis. National and municipal budgets have to be trimmed. At the same time, consumers have to encouraged to spend, in order to get the economy started again. The city of Munich is leading the charge against wasteful spending and in support of consumer expenditure: they are closing a number of public toilets. Why finance public infrastructure from the taxpayer’s purse if some company could make a profit from public digestion?

Christoph & Lollo seem to be so impressed by this initiative that they give a couple of gigs (for free – they have not understood the whole point) to bid farewell to these soon-to-be non-public toilets. They even have a song dedicated to this issue. If you happen to be in Munich on July 2, please pay tribute to these institutions of public relief.
