Cinema in the back yard
Thursday, July 1st, 2010What’s a typical Viennese summer without open-air movie screenings? Take for example “Kino unter Sternen” (http://www.afterimage.at/), “Kino wie noch nie” (http://www.kinowienochnie.at/) or Volxkino (http://www.kinoamdach.at/). So dergelbeSalon had the idea to also host an open-air backyard cinema.
If you are curious and would like to join – just drop by. If you would like to know which [...]

Floating on the “Donaukanal”
Friday, June 4th, 2010This weekend, you can do some floating on the Danube canal – or “Donaukanaltreiben”, as the locals call it. Music, poetry, and culture – even though I don’t quite see how they pack that all on a raft and send it floating on the canal.
Anyway… It might be fun! Check out more on donaukanaltreiben.at!

100 Thousand Roses
Wednesday, May 12th, 2010Next Saturday, Stermann and Grissemann will do what they are best at: talking non-sense in public (though I heard they also do that if they do not have an audience to impress). They will be supported by Russkaja, Balkan Beat Box and many others. And for some reason, 100,000 roses will be handed out by [...]
Doing good around the corner…
Wednesday, January 6th, 2010What do you do when you find out that someone you know as being a nice, lovable chap is doing something really great in their free time, without making a big fuss about it? As is the case with this guy and his friends who don’t just talk about how the world should be changed, [...]
“Traditionelles Neujahrsspringen!”
Tuesday, December 1st, 2009Yes, ski jumping is one of the few sport events where Austrian athletes serve a more than decorational purpose – they actually win sometimes! But the Traditionelles Neujahrsspringen (traditional new year’s ski jumping) of Christoph & Lollo at Kabarett Niedermair is a truly international event – songs about athletes from all over the world.
Christoph & Lollo recently [...]
Ain’t ever too far!
Saturday, November 28th, 2009Of course, it ain’t ever too far to see Regina Spektor live on stage – but I am quite happy that the stage is only a couple of minutes away from dergelbeSalon, actually. So if you have nothing better to do on December 16 – and chances are there is nothing better anyway…
To sum up [...]

Agaetis Byrjun – Happy Birthday!
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009Sigur Rós are celebrating their 10th anniversary of their breakthrough album “Agaetis Byrjun” – and for that reason, they made a live version available on their website, from the release in the Icelandic opera house in Reykjavík some time in 1999. 12 minutes of their great music in one track…

Where the heck is Püspökladány…
Sunday, June 21st, 2009Der gelbe Salon will be unavailable on the weekend June 26-28 in order to celebrate the name day of Laci, Grand Chief of the tribe of IAESTE in Hungary.
